Caring for Classic Wooden Boats and Their Owners Since 1928
Hibbard Hall established Hall's Boat Corporation in 1928, on the site of the old Harris yard that dated back to 1908. Located at the southern end of beautiful Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains, Hall's is now under new ownership.
Purchased by wooden boat devotee Steve Lamando in 2006, with daily operations run by Nick Lamando, Hall's has expanded our services, and more fully developed our facilities and crew, but we maintain the same commitment to customer service established by Hib back in the 1920s.
Today, Hall's operates a Boatworks team performing fine wooden boatbuilding, restoration, and repair; a Boat Sales team specializing in wooden runabouts, and a Boating Club providing concierge marine service to members as well as charming, Adirondack-style lodging on site.
Hall's offers access to the rich history and community that surround wooden boats and boating-all on the beautiful Lake George waterfront at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains.
Boatworks Services

Every wooden boat has a story. And those stories derive from who built them and who used them and where. Whether restoring a family’s heirloom, or building a new boat, the crew at Hall’s Boatworks is always mindful of the associations boats have.
Led by boatbuilder Reuben Smith, the Hall’s Boatworks crew has a passion for the history and the community that surrounds wooden boats. Our Boatworks operates within the historic context of the Hall’s Boat Corporation facilities and all of its offerings on Lake George where we’re part of a vibrant classic boat community. In fact, we still store and maintain boats Hibbard Hall sold in the 1920s.
Whether it’s the restoration of an antique or the construction of a new classic, let Hall’s Boatworks be a part of the story for your wooden boat.
Wooden Boat Restoration

At Hall's Boatworks, our restorations are designed to meet the needs of both the boat and its owner. We can maintain the historical fabric of the boat as much as possible, as well as the original construction method, or we can apply contemporary materials and technologies that make a classic or antique wooden boat easier to use and easier to own. Above all, we strive to insure that our wooden boat restoration work is itself restorable so your boat can live on for decades.
Antique Engine Restoration
Many of our clients love the sound and power of antique marine engines. But with today's long workdays, busy schedules and brief vacations, they need boats that are turnkey - reliable and functional. Many of our clients love the sound and power of antique marine engines.
